Took 1hr and 20 min.

A timelapse and "semi-tutorial" of the speedpainting, and the brushes used for you to download is here (with my own music in it aswell!): www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JSPlO…

Hope you enjoy! :)

I just want to say, thank you so much for putting up your tutorial. Other tutorials I found weren't as explanative and seemed more focused on just giving the "jist" of things, where you were kind enough to go into detail about what you were doing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this to help others :)

I watched your semi-tutorial on YouTube and it was amazing! Thanks for being so forthcoming with your Photoshop 'secrets.' How do I download the brush-pack you included with it?

No problemo :) I did another one you can check out, but it's more of a timelapse. Eh, you can check the description of this video, and you'll find the link for the brush pack I use!

Wow! I saw this on CA and I've always wanted to draw enviroments like this so I'm trying to learn. I always have trouble starting out, like fleshing out what I want to draw so it was really nice to see how you started out. Also: Do you draw the perspective lines in photoshop?

Glad i could help! Well, you could draw the perspective lines if you want, but I have some brushes for quick perspective that i can warp and stuff. It's all in the brush pack I added in the description. :)

The matte texture you kept warping and putting on the rocks, is it in the pack? I can't figure out which one it is anyways. I used your tutorial to make this image: [link] Hopefully with a little more practice I can start making my own environments now.

Yeah it's in the pack! There are alot of texture stuff in that pack, so don't worry if you find it hard to find it. Just keep looking :) And great painting by the way! :)

Wow, it's a stunning work! :wow: Thank you so much for sharing the video and the brushes - I'm gonna download them right away. But hey! When I saw the video, I thought you were some older experienced professional artist. And you're the same age as me?! Now I feel really pathetic :D I'll have to give this speedpainting stuff a try, I guess :XD:
Anyway, your gallery is beyond awesome, so you've just earned yourself a new watcher, so keep up the good work ;)

Hey, and thanks alot for the awesome comment. Download them, watch some timelapses and paintings, get a feel for what it's about and just go at it. I'm basically practicing everyday! In university i draw too, like with a pencil. Just to keep it all going.

Best of care!

You're very welcome :aww: I try to draw as much as I can, too. But the exams are coming and I won't have enough time now :( I'm always amazed to see the timelapsed speedpantings such as yours :). I've ever only tried drawing quite detailed digital pictures, because I always feel like everything deserves more attention and detailing and I edit it until I'm more or less satisfied. But I can't comprehend how it's possible to draw something quickly that it looks gorgeous from the start :D

I hear you. It's the same with me, I'm a mechanical engineering student which sucks out the life of me...

It's all about the values and colors. A good exercise is to speedpaint something in 10 minutes, zoom out until its a small picture, and if it looks good there, then you probably have a very good ground to continue drawing on. Like, get the values and colors down, zoom out and see if you should continue or scrap it.
